Our Mission

Founded in 1999 and incorporated in 2001, the mission of the Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Massachusetts (SEACMA) is to envision a community where all newly arriving and long-settled immigrants and refugees can thrive, actively engage in civic discourse, and contribute to Central Massachusetts while achieving their full potential.

What We Do.

  • cultural Stewardship
  • Community & Economic Development
  • Advocacy & Support

As a cultural steward, SEACMA is an essential part of Worcester's thriving urban environment that proactively takes leadership in leveraging out values-driven influence to advance social justice, equity, and learning beyond our walls. A unique organization, SEACMA is a regional and national leader in shaping the American narrative through the immigrant, refugee, and Asian Pacific Islander experience.

SEACMA is a Massachusetts Community Development Corporation (MACDC) and a member of the Federal Community Development Tax Credits Program (CDTC).

Lunar New Year Celebration

What a blessing to be able to spend the first day of Lunar New Year with our community, our family!

Supporting Haitian Refugees

Our New Neighbors, Refugees from Haiti, Need Our Help!

Our team from the Southeast Asian Coalition (SEACMA) brought over 10 bags of clothing containing hundreds of pants and shoes and more than 1,000 shirts for Haitian families temporarily placed in a hotel nearby. Of course, we included Ramen Noodles as it was a staple for many of us when we first arrived here as immigrants and refugees from Southeast Asia.

I was asked recently, “Why does the Southeast Asian Coalition want to help Haitian Refugees?”  I am honestly not sure how to answer that question. I only know one thing, that we have new neighbors and they have survived a treacherous journey. Most have experienced unimaginable trauma and have suffered great loss. Our new neighbors NEED our HELP.

So, if you speak Haitian Creole and would like to donate time, that would be extremely helpful. If you have children’s diapers, there is a huge need. If you have sneakers and shoes, that would be a great help. If you would like to donate money, that’s even better.
