About Company

Our Mission

Founded in 1999 and incorporated in 2001, the mission of the Southeast Asian Coalition of Central Massachusetts (SEACMA) is to envision a community where all newly arriving and long-settled immigrants and refugees can thrive, actively engage in civic discourse, and contribute to Central Massachusetts while achieving their full potential.

What We Do!

How It Works

  • A cultural Steward
  • A Southeast Asian Community and Economic Development Center
  • a Community Leader

As a cultural steward, SEACMA is an essential part of Worcester's thriving urban environment that proactively takes leadership in leveraging out values-driven influence to advance social justice, equity, and learning beyond our walls. A unique organization, SEACMA is a regional and national leader in shaping the American narrative through the immigrant, refugee, and Asian Pacific American experience.

SEACMA is a Certified Massachusetts Community Development Corporation (MACDC) and a member of the Federal Community Development Tax Credits Program (CDTC).

Member of: MA Office of Immigrants and Refugees Advisory Council, MA Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Board, Greater Worcester Community Foundation Board, Worcester Art Museum Corporate Board, Worcester Public Schools’ Superintedent Search Committee, Worcester Public Health Committee, Worcester Together Logistic Committee, Mayor’s Mental Health Task Force, MACDC, MACDTC, AmeriCorps.

Our History

Approximately 7.58% of Worcester's population is Asian, which totals to about 14,100 people.

Founded in 1999 and established as a nonprofit agency in 2001, the Southeast Asian Coalition strives to address the lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate services for Southeast Asian immigrants in Central Massachusetts. Through the organization’s continued efforts, SEACMA has been able to develop a strong, positive reputation among members and collaborators. Our organization has become a trusted cultural community center and one that is contacted first when members are in need of help.
